Airspace Modernisation

The UK’s airspace design principles are now over 40 years old and urgently require modernisation to increase capacity, reduce delays and improve resilience. Without airspace modernisation, airlines will not be able to access the increased airport capacity as it is delivered. Successive Governments have avoided the necessary decisions since changing air routes is politically sensitive, however, the issue has finally been unlocked with new strategic processes under consultation.
