COVID-19 Response

BAR UK sat on the Expert Steering Group (ESG) set up by the Secretary of State for Transport throughout the pandemic response. BAR UK input was instrumental in achieving many of the initiatives that unwound many onerous and costly travel restrictions and carrier penalties. Principle achievements include the “Travel Corridors” policy in 2020, alleviation of operating crew restrictions, increased acceptance of lateral flow tests, abolition of Mandatory Hotel Quarantine (MQS) and movement from per passenger to system bases carrier compliance penalties.
